Hello dear sisters! I hope you have been enjoying week 4 of our study. I think this was a much needed lesson for many of us. Nancy says on page 90, “According to the Bible, self-control is more of a heart issue than a matter of personal management.” “Without self-control, we have little or no defense against sin and temptation.” Self-control doesn’t come natural, we need to be trained. We need to be self-controlled in our, thoughts, temperament, tongue, time, temple and treasure.
Here are some discussion questions. You can share your thoughts and comments here, write them down in your book during your quiet time or discuss them with another sister doing the study with you.
- What do you think it means to be sound-minded?
- Identify the false beliefs that lie behind the self-control challenge you identifies on page 94.
- According to Romans 12:2, how can you combat unsound thinking?
We have a group of women meeting on Monday evening to do this very same study. We had several sisters who were unable to make our meeting on Monday so we did not do a video taping for this week.
In His Love,
Melisa
