Hello dear sisters! I hope you have been enjoying week 7of our study. I would like to share a few things the authors had to say in day 1. “Kindness can’t be isolated from the qualities of affection, sympathy, friendliness, patience, pleasantness, gentleness, tenderness, generosity, and especially goodness. In essence, to be kind is to have a good heart that is inclined toward doing good things for others. Jesus is the perfect expression of the Father’s kindness and His philanthropy (benevolence) toward undeserving sinners. The Great Kindness is a gift. We can’t pay for it. We can’t demand it. We can’t merit it by how good or nice we are, or by our own acts of kindness. No. God saves us because He is eternally and immeasurably kind, good, and merciful. he is the great Benefactor – the great Philanthropist. Our kindness bears witness to the kindness of our heavenly Father and the great redemptive work of Jesus. Most people would agree that showing kindness is a nice, decent thing to do. But for a believer, it’s the God-thing to do. ”
Here are some discussion questions. You can share your thoughts and comments here, write them down in your book during your quiet time or discuss them with another sister doing the study with you.
- Describe a time when an act of kindness powerfully ministered to you. What was it about the act of kindness that make it so meaningful?
- Complete the Kindness Report Card on page 166. Which attribute is the most challenging for you? Why?
- Scripture prioritizes the call to demonstrate kindness to family members first. Does that priority indicate a need for some reordering on your part?
- Why is it sometimes easier to be kind to strangers than to family members and close friends?
For a number of reasons, we will not be taping our Monday night sessions each week. If you have been enjoying them and would like to see us continue them please let us know. We will continue to pray and seek God’s guidance in the best ways to bring you a quality online Bible study. We thank you for being a part of our study and pray for you and your families!
In His Love,
Melisa
