Hello everyone! I hope you’ve had an opportunity to watch this weeks video we posted. Today we just want to encourage you to keep using your prayer cards in the back of the Bible Study Book, post them someplace you’ll see then throughout your day and join in on the question/discussion starters here.
- How is the truth of our faith reflected in our actions and attitudes?
- What have been the greatest challenges to your faith? When have you seemed to be strongest in your faith?
- How would you describe the difference between belief and faith?
- Let us know how we can encourage you and pray for you.
As a reminder, Priscilla Shirer’s videos are available to purchase from Lifeway.com. They are not required for the study. Click here for the answers to the viewer guide.
I wanted to share with you a very powerful message on the Armor of God that Priscilla Shirer recently gave at James River Church in Springfield Missouri. Click here to listen to her message.

Thank you Melissa for all your heard work putting this study together. This piece of armor is my favorite. A few years back I studies about the word Faith. I learned a valuable lesson that I refer to often. I learned that faith is doing what God asks of me because it will always bring a good outcome. There are two areas of my life that God has asked me to go in faith. One is giving up alcohol. While that my seem like an easy area for most Christians to understand is an area God may want his children to walk away from in my family it becomes a very confusing area. My family believes it is an area of relaxing, unwinding, having a great time with your family and giving it up means you no longer want to be around your loved ones or have anything to do with what they enjoy. It becomes an area of trying to show love, fighting temptation, and walking on broken glass while trying not to get cut. FAITH: doing what God asks of me because He promises a good outcome. I am the strongest in my faith when I spend time with God. Quality time in service, prayer, and reading and soaking up His word. I have learned that begging God to save me from my temptations is not all He requires. One person once explained it like this. What would you think of a solder who while on the battle field taking fire from the enemy laid down his weapons, crawled in a fox hole and cried out for his commander to come and save him. What do you think he would say to him? He would tell him to pick up his weapons and fight. FIGHT! Using the armor of God.
I’ll save the second area of Faith for later. Thanks again. Prayers for this area would be most appreciated.

Thank you Pam for sharing! I agree, that when we do what God calls us to do He will bring a good outcome. That takes patience sometimes though because we don’t always see the good outcome right away or sometimes not at all. We just have to believe and know that God is using our obedience when we act in faith. Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing a very difficult situation with us. Acting in faith isn’t always easy but it’s what God calls us to do! God bless you Pam!
